Over the years I have witnessed that everyone has their own idea of what substance abuse counseling entails. For some, the first thing that comes to mind is treatment for drug addiction or alcoholism; others think of helping youth with drug problems; and those in recovery tend to think of relapse prevention.
However, in addition to TREATMENT and RECOVERY, there is also PREVENTION. And, just like the other categories, folks tend to NOT want to address it either!
Ironically enough, last week I received a comment from one of my “avid blog-readers” stating that perhaps my blog topics were too weighty. . . . Well, ya’ll ain’t seen nothing yet 🙂 !
